So what about ... code sprints?
Within the next month we are going to move out of our current office building and relocate to a new building which is bigger, more awesome and most important of all: just a few blocks away from here! The new building has three levels and a huge cafeteria, sounds nice...!
After a chat with a few colleagues about all that free space left, we came up with the idea of organizing code sprints (real UNIX-hackers call these things hackatons right?) at our place, starting later this year. I think that it's going to be something in the usual lines of: inviting cool Drupal enthusiasts (like you?) and coming over here to enjoy pizzas and team up together to do Drupal development around a specific topic.
Getting interested?
We still have to make a decision on this idea yet and it actually depends on you. So my question here is if there are any people out there in the Benelux willing to join Drupal code sprints at our office? If enough people think it's a good idea we are going to consider this internally and set it all up. At that time we will publish dates and more data. So let me know through the comments or use our contact form.
Our new office is located nearby a train station in the harmless peaceful town of Hardinxveld-Giessendam, The Netherlands.

/me too
we (DOP) are planning some sessions as well (and we do have a very nice place for locating these including pool :-) but we might come up at your place as well. good initative!
Good initiative, worth exploring
I like the idea to get coders together. DrupalJams for information and code sprints for hands-on.
Other subjects: Writing tests, iDeal, and perhaps translation.

Krimson might be intrested to join in these sprints
Congratz with the new office ! We know the good feeling of moving to a bigger place :-)
krimson have been considering doing code-sprints at our new office too. In general we work every friday on Drupal-stuff; and sometimes we invite people to join us to get a certain feature done.
Since Antwerp to Hardinxveld-Giessendam isn't more then a 1 hour drive, we might consider doing this together... We can always smuggle belgian beers over the frontier ;-)
Our new guy Swentel has just proposed to join forces to get some modules ported to drupal 6. That might be an ideal start to get people up-to-date to drupal 6 module development, and in the mean time to get those modules ported !
Let's meet in hungary, and talk about it.

RE: Krimson might be intrested to join in these sprints
Well, that sounds like a constructive idea! It might be an idea to indeed consider starting to do these kinds of sprints at Krimson as well, both our teams and (of course everybody interested outside our employers) can join these events at both our offices. That would be a good opportunity to share big amounts of Belgian and Dutch beers knowledge.
Besides I think that Swentel is on the good track when it comes to a subject, DR6 porting efforts need to pace up indeed; though Raymond thought of that earlier as well.
Ps. Besides the Krimson folks other Benelux people interested?
Niels,

Also interested
Hi!
I am also interested in coding and getting together, although I haven't done any module coding (yet) I am proficient in PHP, so I think that'll help ;-)
I'm from Amsterdam btw, so if any more people from that area wanna team up and go to the MadCap office, I'm in.
I am totally ok with friday btw.
With kind regards,
