Drupal 7 Database Layer: The Cheat Sheet

So, with the Drupal 7 release approaching we have a brand new database layer, matured and almost all bits of Drupal got ported, yay. All work that remains are the third party modules that first of all, need to start porting and using the cool new (TM) features afterwards.

Last chance to subscribe to the Dutch code sprint

Just wanted to drop a quick note that next Monday the registration of the code sprint closes. So only today, tomorrow and Sunday there is room for subscribing. For now a decent team of people (including the beer-smuggling Belgium Krimson people!

Some time ago, I wrote about the idea of organizing code sprints in our new office and was wondering if there would be any interest in such a event. Well, we have our new office and we have our answer, there is lot's of interest in organizing one.

Within the next month we are going to move out of our current office building and relocate to a new building which is bigger, more awesome and most important of all: just a few blocks away from here! The new building has three levels and a huge cafeteria, sounds nice...!

'hook_nodeapi' use

Last week we had a release for one of our clients. The day before the release I decided to check the query log. On the front page eleven nodes were loaded which resulted in 99 queries!
